Because those relationships have high value to us, safety is not a slogan, but is a culture within Builders by Design. Having an excellent safety record is more than just following laws, rules, and procedures, which we do, but it is also about regard for each other with everything we do. The overall safety rating for companies is called the Emergency Modification Rate, or EMR. With the EMR, a lower number is better. For years, Builder's By Design's EMR has been well below state and national averages. Right now, our average EMR is 0.84. The national average EMR is 1.0 and the Kentucky state average EMR is 1.08. We are proud of our focus on safety.
